Biography:His real name is Srdan Thian, born in 1978 in Zagreb, capital of Republic of Croatia. As a very young guy he showed interest in music, and in mid eighties he discovered a board with wheels :) and soon he became obsessed with the fenomenon called skateboard. The next eight years he spent on his skateboard, skating in Croatia and nearby countries. In those days he enjoyed "Noise" music and bands such as "Sonic Youth", "The Jesus Lizard" etc. In 1994 he started to visit clubs and parties where he discovered electronic music. Since then he was on almost every event in Zagreb and the rest of the area. At that time he was inspired by Zagreb dj's Kiki and Frajman and he visited their residence night at the club Aquarius. Those were early days and he started to pay attention to the music (he was collecting the music, learned from DJs...) and he daydreamed to become DJ. Finally, during the year 1997 he managed to collect some money and he bought modest equipment and the very next year he started as a DJ at local parties and private parties under the stagename "DJ Suky". During those days, he played techno music, and he finally had a chance to play his own music to the people. In the autumn of 1999, he had a chance to play in "Valentino" club in Zagreb. He took a chance and this event become a key day in his career. It was set of "minimal techno", very popular at that time. Soon after that event, he got his chance to become "resident DJ". With his school mate Vedran Stifanic he started to organise electronic-music club nights under the name "Tatraplan". The very first Tatraplan party was huge success so he continued to produce excellent parties during this season. Doing Tatraplan, he had access to most popular radio stations such as: radio 101 (deep fm, hosted by DJ Kiki) and Student Radio (Memezine hosted by DJ Luka). With his uniqe visual identity and inovative sound Tatraplan soon became a "cult" event so Srdan and Vedran appeared in "Nomad" fanzin. During next few years he was studying at university of enterpreneurship, and in the free time giging across the state. After the summer 2004, he went to Stuttgart (Germany). At the end of the same year he managed to become a resident DJ of the "Lush" club in Stuttgart where he played all night sets. He changed his name to DJ Thian. He was orientated to many different techno styles but under the influence of german club scene, he started to play electro-minimal combination with few deep techno attempts. With that music profile he worked in Lush club. In spring of 2005 he got the chance to play in Ha.bar club in Stuttgart. The night under the name "Tatraplan – Die Elemente elektronisch" were very successfull and it offered all-night travel through the many different elcetronic styles. That gig opened the opportunity for Ha.bar to host Tatraplan nights. After returning to his homeland he threw parties at the "Masters" club in Zagreb. He started to organize "Tartaplan" nights where he plays the core of underground sounds. Tatraplan was happening once or twice a month, event hosting many new and well known DJs. Also he started producing music with his frend Davor Išek. They are releasing their work @ Technopop-independent music label. In the year 2007 they started to produce more and release stuff on Bonzai music. In a production as in the mixes, DJ Thian is always trying to make a uniqe sound. Constantly searching the way to present music as an artistic form, as it should always be treated.
