Berlin-based DJ/Producer, Co-founder of Instead Recordings
Berlin-based DJ and producer Thian, co-founder of Instead Recordings, is a distinguished presence in Europe’s electronic music scene with over 1,000 performances and more than 100 releases. Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, Thian launched his career in the late ’90s, performing at iconic Croatian venues like Kulusic, The Best, Fort Bourguignon, Oxygene, OTV-Boogaloo, Valentino, and Masters. He also founded the influential party series “Tatraplan” at Valentino, which became a major force in cultivating a new generation of club-goers in Zagreb. The series later moved to Masters, celebrated as Zagreb’s most underground club.
Since moving to Berlin in 2011, Thian has become a fixture in the city’s nightlife, holding residencies at various clubs and leaving a lasting impact on Berlin’s electronic music landscape. His performance credits include renowned venues such as Arkaoda, M01, and Suicide Circus, now known as Lokschuppen. Beyond Berlin, he has held residencies at Stuttgart’s Lush and HaBar and performed at the Summership festival in Nuremberg.
In addition to his solo projects, Thian is now part of the Berlin DJ collective Synthesis. He also curates his event series, Thian & Friends, where he hosts Berlin-based DJs as part of his residency. A prolific producer, Thian’s catalog spans respected labels, and he has completed official remixes for acclaimed artists Funk D’Void and Samuel L Session.
